process in pomegranate plants. Also, we face many difficulties in the
transformation of flowers into fruits of this plant. Why is this so? What points
should be kept in mind to avoid these problems? Get all your answers by reading
below:
·
Pot/ Container Size:
Pomegranate is a plant that needs more space for its growth.
It would be preferable to grow it on ground but if you are using a pot, make
sure to take at least 14 inch pot as pomegranate roots penetrate deep in soil.
If you will take pot of less size then it will hinder the
process of fruiting.
·
Process of growth:
When grown from seed, the plant will tend to take min. 5 to
6 years before showing fruiting. To skip this you all can directly buy a
pomegranate plant from nursery and then grow it. Any grafted or tissue culture
variety plant from nearest store or nursery will work for all the fruit lovers.
·
Type of soil:
Pomegranate loves the type of soil which has a high
concentration of sand. If one mixes 20 % of sand in your normal plants then
make this to 30 to 35 % in pomegranate plant. This will enhance the growth of
its roots. So, sand-rich soil is the key.
·
Fertiliser:
Improper flowering or fruiting can also be because of a lack
of proper nutrition. Potassium-rich fertilisers will give a boost to your
plants then give some potassium-rich fertiliser to it. Banana peels are very
rich source of potassium and are an organic solution for your plant.
Boil some banana peels in water and strain the liquid and
you are good to GO! This liquid fertiliser has many benefits for flowering and
fruiting plants and this shows guaranteed results
·
Watering:
During the flowering process, the plant doesn’t need a lot of water as
this results in falling of flower bud. Watering it only once in alternate days
will do the needful.
·
Tilling of soil and Vermi Compost:
Tilling of whole soil, then after leaving it for a day, adding
vermi compost to it will also help in the transforming process of flowers. The Pomegranate plant loves vermi compost.
